SERGIO TORNAGHI
Photographer

He graduated in Set Design from the Accademia di Brera. He worked as an assistant and operator in the studios of Rodolfo Facchini, Armando Rebatto, and Franco Pagetti, and in 1986 opened his own professional studio, which led him to collaborate with various Milan-based advertising and communication agencies on both corporate and advertising projects.
At the same time, he began his own research path, experimenting with Polaroid photography. In 1992, his images were included in the Polaroid Collection of the World (Opera Unica) in Boston, USA.
In 1993, he began teaching History and Techniques of Photography at the Fondazione Accademia di Comunicazione, a role he has continued to this day. In 1997, one of his portraits was a finalist for the Kodak European Gold Award, and in the same year one of his images was featured in Selections of the Polaroid Collection at Photokina.
In 1998, he won second prize in the Cinema in Polaroid competition with a work inspired by Senso. He is mentioned by Barbara Hitchcock in The Polaroid Book, published by Taschen in 2005.
In 2006, together with some students from the Accademia di Comunicazione, he founded the 2|9|2 Gallery in Milan.
