Architect

He graduated in Architecture from La Sapienza University in Rome. After graduating in 1997, he began his professional activity in Troia (FG), his hometown, founding the studio Cibelli / Guadagno Architetti together with Stefano Cibelli. The firm mainly focuses on architectural design, restoration and conservation of historic buildings, and design. In 2000, they took part in the Venice Biennale with a project that won a design competition and was exhibited in the Italian Pavilion within the “City of the Third Millennium” section. In 2002, they worked first on the restoration of the Cathedral of Troia and then on the creation of the Cathedral Treasury Museum, while also designing interiors for commercial spaces and private homes, and later restoring several historic buildings and two 18th-century convent complexes.
In 2004, they collaborated with the University of Basilicata as lecturers in the postgraduate master’s program Recpolis, focused on the study and promotion of historic cities. In 2009, they were selected by the CON[FINE] Gallery in Apricena for the exhibition and publication Young Architects of Capitanata.
In November 2010, the Cathedral Treasury Museum project was selected and published in the interior design section of the First Architecture Award for Capitanata 2010 CON[TEMPORANEA]. In 2012, they were included in the catalog Tra Arte e Design, alongside the Compasso d’Oro and Ugo La Pietra, designing a furniture collection for the brand De Mura that blends tradition and innovation, presented at the Fuorisalone in Milan in 2012.
The Press bookcase and the Sifter outdoor lamp were later exhibited, respectively in 2013 and 2014, at the Triennale di Milano as part of the exhibition HABITAPULIA, curated by Michele De Lucchi for the Puglia Region. In 2017, they participated in the project Young Stone Project_Le pietre e il Giardino with the Department of Architecture of the G. d’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, presenting their work at Marmomacc 2017 in Verona.
In the same year, they completed the lighting and acoustic design project for the Cathedral of Troia, which was selected for the Ad’A – Adriatic Architecture Award 2020. In 2018, they designed the restaurant area for the new Business School headquarters of LUISS University in Rome, located in the former greenhouse of Villa Blanc.
Their work has been published in various international books and specialized journals. Since 2015, he has been teaching Drawing and Art History in high schools.
