AGNESE GIGLIA
Designer

After graduating in Architecture, she obtained a PhD at the Department of Design of the University of Palermo. She has designed sets and exhibition layouts for museums, exhibition spaces, and theaters in Italy and abroad, and has collaborated on various communication projects.
Since 2008 she has been part of the editorial team of Pad Journal, and from 2011 to 2013 she curated the design column for Balarm magazine. She is a council member of ADI Sicilia, where she has been part of the board and the Index Observatory since 2009.
She curates the series of talks aroun(d)esign and works on cultural projects aimed at connecting and developing local territories through service design. Since 2011 she has been teaching Exhibition Design and Ecodesign at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo.

Her projects Design Mediterraneo-Pad and N38E13 have been selected and published in the volumes Index 2010 Compasso d’Oro Award* (Research section) and Index 2014 Compasso d’Oro Award (Services System for Art, Design, Culture and Territory section), respectively. Since 2013 she has been Vice President of N38E13, a cultural space housed in an 18th-century building.
