Based in Copenhagen and Porto, Hugo Passos designs objects and furniture that are as pleasing in form as they are in use. His work is driven by a deep fascination with the human scale of everyday objects.
Without overlooking the artistic potential of design, Passos remains committed to his belief that the resulting designs must first and foremost serve their purpose and do what they are meant to do. While paying close attention to materials, structure, and ergonomics, he also demonstrates a refined sense of aesthetics and an appreciation for the beauty of the everyday.
Passos’s work has been produced by companies such as Fredericia, Fritz Hansen (formerly Skagerak), Crane Cookware, Nikari, and Monocle.
