After studying Interior Design at Design Time in Cape Town, she moved to London to work with Conran and Partners, and later won a scholarship in design at the Istituto Europeo di Design. In 2011, she graduated in Industrial Design from IED in Milan. During her studies, she met her colleague Davide Gramatica. In 2016, the two founded their design studio, CARA \ DAVIDE. Their projects are process-driven and characterized by ongoing research into materials, context, and perception. An important part of their practice consists of self-produced limited editions, made possible through close collaboration with artisans in Italy and South Africa. The outcomes of this research are often presented by galleries in Europe and the United States. She is a lecturer at IED Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan.
