DOUGLAS ANDREETTI

Douglas Andreetti graduated from a scientific high school before beginning university studies in Biology. After three years, he left to complete his military service, and upon returning he decided to resume photography and continue his studies at the European Institute of Design in Milan, where he met Schenetti.
In 1993 he moved to Milan to study at the European Institute of Design, where he graduated four years later. During his years of study, he met Douglas Andreetti, with whom he built a portfolio characterized by portraits created using the Light Painting technique.
After graduating, they began working together in the advertising industry, collaborating with clients such as Sony, Philips, Telecom Italia, Adidas, FIAT, ENEL, and others. After two years working exclusively in advertising, they were selected by the Grazia Neri agency to work in publishing. They produced numerous commissioned works both in Italy and abroad, creating many magazine covers for publications such as SportWeek, L’Équipe, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and Wired.
Schenetti’s stylistic path is evident in their main exhibitions. In 2002 they presented MTV Stills, a series of portraits created using Light Painting on Polaroid film; in 2005 they exhibited portraits of Italian and international athletes at the Hilton Hotel in Milan; and in 2006 they created the exhibition B/Reflected, a gallery of photographs of Italian celebrities portrayed through a mirror.
Schenetti was among the first Italian photographers to introduce digital post-production into publishing and to use it as a distinctive expressive tool. At the end of 2021, Schenetti and Andreetti decided to end their collaboration.
