MASSIMILIANO SCHENETTI
Photographer

Massimiliano Schenetti began his career as a photography assistant while studying Literature and Philosophy at the Università degli Studi di Parma. After working with various portrait and wedding photographers in Parma, he moved to La Spezia, continuing his work as an assistant specializing in fine-art wedding photography.
In 1993 he moved to Milan to study at the Istituto Europeo di Design, graduating four years later. During his studies, he met Duglas Andreetti, with whom he developed a portfolio characterized by portraits created using the light painting technique.
After graduating, they began working together in advertising, collaborating with clients such as Sony, Philips, Telecom Italia, Adidas, FIAT, and Enel.
After two years working exclusively in advertising, they were selected by the Grazia Neri Agency to enter the editorial field. They produced numerous assignments both in Italy and abroad, creating covers for magazines such as SportWeek, L’Équipe, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and Wired.
Schenetti’s stylistic approach is evident in his major exhibitions. In 2002, they presented MTV Stills, a series of light painting portraits on Polaroid; in 2005, they exhibited portraits of Italian and international athletes at the Hilton Milan; and in 2006, they created B/Reflected, a gallery of photographs of Italian celebrities portrayed behind a mirror.
Schenetti was among the first Italian photographers to introduce digital post-production into the editorial field and to use it as a defining expressive tool. At the end of 2021, Schenetti and Andreetti ended their collaboration. However, the name max&douglas has continued under Schenetti in both commercial and artistic contexts.
