Born in 1947, he graduated in Milan from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in 1969. From 1978 to 1984 he lived in London, where he founded Alias U.K. and became Director of Artemide G.B.
In 1979 he was a founding partner of Alias, and in 1992 of Nemo. In 1999 he founded Forcolini.Lab, a creative design studio working across different fields of design and visual communication. In 2005 he was a founding partner of OYlight.
Throughout his career he has designed for Amar, Artemide, Alias, Cassina, BBB Bonacina, De Padova, Luceplan, Luci Italia, Gervasoni, Joint, Nemo, OYlight, Pomellato, Valenti, and Zumtobel Residential Lighting.
From 1995 to 2000 he was art director for Pomellato. From 2001 to 2007 he served as National President of ADI (Association for Industrial Design). In 2007 he became a member of the Italian Design Council. From 2009 onwards he held successive roles within the IED Group, including CEO, Vice President (2012), and Scientific Director (2014).
His projects are included in the collections of the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Design Museum of the Triennale di Milano, and the ADI Compasso d’Oro Collection. He lives and works in Milan.
