LUCA ROTONDO
Photographer

He began actively practicing photography in 2013, the year he graduated from the Istituto Europeo di Design with the book Ipotesi di Paesaggio, where he has been teaching since 2016.
In 2015, after receiving the Premio Ponchielli, he started collaborating with several national and international magazines, including The Sunday Times, GEO Magazine, Esquire, la Repubblica (D Repubblica), L’Espresso, Panorama, Io Donna, Elle Decor, and The World of Interiors.
In 2017 he was nominated for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass. In 2021 he created the photographic essay for the book The Extinct, published by CTRL Books.
In 2022, on behalf of the Ministero della Cultura and the Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione (ICCD), he conducted a photographic documentation campaign of the Calabria region for the European PON project.
His interests span a wide range of subjects, following what sparks his curiosity. He sees photography as a way to understand, archive, and organize the world, while also serving as a means to explore topics he finds meaningful. In his daily life, he is a collector—of objects and stories—who enjoys preserving things and the memories attached to them. Taking photographs is another form of collecting and a way to better understand the world.
