MATTEO CLERICI
Architect

He graduated from the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, Switzerland, in 2013 under the guidance of Valerio Olgiati, and collaborated with the Aires Mateus studio in Lisbon, Portugal, during his academic years. One of the co-founders of OSA, the student association of the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, he has also collaborated with LBA studio and with Edoardo Milesi & Archos studio.
In 2014, with the project Nuova parrocchia della Madonna del Carmine in Santa Maria la Carità (Naples), he received a mention for the Young Talent of Italian Architecture award organized by CNAPPC.
He currently works as a design assistant at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio and runs his own office, Matteo Clerici Architetto, working on projects of various scales in Switzerland, Italy, and abroad. He collaborates with the Teatro dell’Architettura in Mendrisio on installations and exhibitions, and his project Cantina dei 5 sogni in Monforte d’Alba was published in Casabella in 2021.
He is currently pursuing a PhD on the topic of Open Architecture: the characteristics that make architecture resistant to time and open to possibilities, continuing to develop his architectural research.
