MATTEO RAGNI
Designer

He graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano. In 2001, together with Giulio Iacchetti, he won the Compasso d’Oro ADI for the biodegradable fork/spoon Moscardino, now part of the permanent design collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
In 2008 he received the Wallpaper Design Award for the table lamp/bookend Leti, produced by Danese Milano. In the same year, he founded TobeUs, which produces handcrafted wooden toy cars made in Italy—a brand conceived as a manifesto for conscious consumption and the basis for workshops and traveling exhibitions.
For the publishing house Corraini Edizioni, he published Camparisoda: l’aperitivo veloce futurista, da Fortunato Depero a Matteo Ragni, celebrating 100 years of Futurism, and Wallpaper Celebration.
In 2012 he won, with the project W-eye, the Premio Nazionale per l’Innovazione “Premio dei Premi.” At the end of 2013, a retrospective exhibition titled Matteo Ragni: Almost 20 Years of Design was held at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Toronto.
In 2014, again with Giulio Iacchetti, he won the Compasso d’Oro ADI for the Montini manhole covers project. Alongside his work as a designer, he teaches at several international universities and is also active as an art director and architect.
