Born in the Milan countryside in 1962, he studied Engineering and Fashion Design in Italy, and later Design and Technology in the United States. He began his career as a designer and technical director, later working as a Toys & Playground designer and as an expert in safety and early childhood educational development within the European Union.
He later joined the Innovation Centre of Epta, a company producing commercial refrigeration systems, where he served as Head of Research. There, he had the opportunity both to experiment with materials and nanotechnologies and to develop the design of new models for large-scale retail distribution.
Throughout his career, he has been responsible for ergonomic studies on products, as well as Eco Design and Eco Label projects. He has developed methodological design skills applying TRIZ and DOE. Since 2012 he has been teaching Materials Technology for Industrial Design at the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano.
He is a member of ADI – Atelier dell’Innovazione, the commission for research and promotion of methodologies, typologies, materials, and technologies for strategic innovation. He is also a member of DFA – Design for All and TC IEC59 WG 11 Design & Accessibility.
He regularly participates in conferences and congresses around the world dedicated to innovation and design.
